Business

Let’s start with Simon Sinek’s quote:

People don’t buy what you do or how you do it, they buy “why” you do it.

Every company that I’ve worked for, I always wanted to understand the “why”. The purpose should permeate everything you do.

To me, whether you’re a business owner or working for someone, business is broken into two buckets.

  1. Focus on tailored business goals + measure the performance
  2. Having a strategic process driven mindset

Ask yourself…

  • Where do you focus your energy… Is it your superpower?
  • What makes your business unique and stand out?
  • Do you make it easy for clients, vendors and those in the industry to work with you?
  • Do you mix personality (a blend of who you really are) with how you do business?
  • Are you surrounded by positive team morale (high-5 if you are!)

Once you understand the business side, it will be easier to hold conversations with purpose and substance. Working alongside the c-suite you need a voice and your ideas heard. Having a backbone in business has allowed me to progress my career and climb the corporate ladder.
